Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how kortoro.com (“the Platform,” “the Company,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, handles, and safeguards user information. We operate strictly as an Intermediary Network Service Provider under Section 2(w) of the Electronic Transactions Ordinance (ETO), 2002.

This document ensures absolute data processing transparency in strict compliance with Section 21 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016 (Breach of Privacy/Confidentiality) under the laws of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

1. WHO WE ARE

Our website address is: https://kortoro.com. The Platform provides hosted e-commerce storefront software to independent third-party sellers (“Vendors”) for a fixed monthly subscription fee. The Company does not participate in, process, or log the direct payments, retail checkouts, or logistics agreements executed between retail customers (“Buyers”) and Vendors.

2. WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY WE COLLECT IT

Multi-Vendor Infrastructure & Registration Data

  • From Vendors: We collect business entity details, contact names, active mobile/WhatsApp communication numbers, email addresses, National Tax Number (NTN) status, and billing verification data required to audit monthly software subscription fees.
  • From Buyers: We collect basic account details limited to consumer profile names, email addresses, and encrypted password hashes required to generate a secure WordPress user profile.
  • Data We Explicitly DO NOT Collect: Because checkout transactions happen directly between buyers and vendors, the Company never processes, logs, views, or stores Buyer credit cards, bank accounts, mobile wallet PINs, physical delivery addresses, or cash details. That data is input directly into the Vendor’s independent checkout forms or handed over directly to the Vendor’s selected courier.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to assist in automated spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at automattic.com. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website (such as shop banners or product photos), you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images hosted on the Platform.

Cookies

  • Comments: If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies last for one year.
  • Login Status: If you have an account and log in to this site, we set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
  • User Preferences: When you log in, we set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login persists for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies are removed.
  • Storefront Publishing: If an administrator or Vendor edits or publishes a product page or post, an additional cookie is saved in the browser. This cookie includes no personal data, simply indicates the post ID of the item just edited, and expires after 1 day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles or storefront layouts on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, maps, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the target external website.

These third-party websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that specific website.

3. WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH

  • Order Routing Automation: When a Buyer places an order on a vendor shop built on our infrastructure, our software automatically transmits the item selections and Buyer profile name to that specific Vendor’s internal dashboard to enable order fulfillment.
  • Third-Party Vendors: We do not trade, sell, or rent your database records to third-party marketing entities. Data is shared exclusively with certified cloud hosting servers and payment gateways used to clear your monthly platform subscription fees.

4. HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA

  • Comments: If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
  • User Profiles: For users that register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
  • Unpaid Vendor Accounts: If a vendor shop remains unpaid and suspended for more than 30 days, the platform database automatically schedules all product tables, configurations, and store media logs for a permanent server purge.

5. WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes under the record retention guidelines of Pakistan.

6. WHERE WE SEND YOUR DATA

Visitor comments, user signups, and vendor product descriptions may be checked through an automated external spam and cyber-fraud detection service.

7. DATA SECURITY AND PLATFORM PROTECTION

How We Protect Your Data

We implement standard industry administrative and technical security measures (including SSL encryption protocols and database access limits) to protect system tokens and account data in compliance with the security parameters of PECA 2016. However, the ultimate security of access credentials rests entirely with the individual user.

Data Breach Procedures

In the event of a verified database vulnerability or server compromise, our systems will isolate affected nodes, reset system access tokens, notify affected users via email within 72 hours, and comply with any regulatory technical investigations mandated by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).

Vendor Data Restriction Mandate

Under the data protection frameworks of Pakistan, Vendors are strictly barred from utilizing Buyer details for unauthorized outreach, external marketing promotions, or selling client profiles. Any data leaks, unauthorized sharing of client profiles, or scraping of consumer phone numbers by a Vendor constitutes a direct violation of Section 21 of PECA 2016 and will result in immediate platform expulsion and potential legal action.

8. INDUSTRY REGULATORY DISCLOSURE REQUIREMENTS

We comply with the Schedule-B Code of Conduct for Online Marketplaces (E-Commerce Policy of Pakistan). If we receive an official notice or verified complaint regarding intellectual property theft, counterfeit product displays, or illegal listings under the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), 1860, we are legally required to remove the infringing content and cooperate fully with federal enforcement agencies.
